Bethany Murray

I received my BSN from Indiana State University and my Masters degree from IUPUI.  I have certifications in both adult health (NP-C) and oncology (AOCNP).  I have been a nurse since 1993 when I graduated from Ivy Tech State College as an LPN (formerly Indiana Vocatinal Technical College).  I work at Internal Medicine Associates in Bloomington where I split time in primary care, hematology and oncology, and our walk-in clinic.

Patricia Fischer, NP

I am a nurse practitioner employed in cardiology with Clarian Arnett in Lafayette.  My background was intensive care/critical care staff nursing, nurse specialist, and unit manager.  I also have experience with cardiac and pulmonary rehabitation.  Until recently my practice had been cardiac outpatients.  When the hospital opened in Oct I am now seeing inpatients for cardiology as well.  I am involved with CHF management, pacemaker clinic, and lipid program.  I have a diploma in nursing from Springfield, Mo.  My BSN and MSN are from Purdue.

Valerie Kalamaras, MSN/FNP/MBA

I received my BSN, MSN/FNP from Valparaiso University and have been a nurse since 1993; an FNP since 1995.  I have ANCC certification in Family Health.  My background included Women's Health, Urgent Care, Family Practice, Dialysis, Jail Health Services, and most recently Retail Health care.  I am SANE trained and work registry for sexual assault victims.  My home phone is: 219-322-5912.

Deborah Tannehill, NP-C

Greetings, I am a family nurse practitioner and I enjoy my role.  I received my ASN degree from Lutheran College of Health Professions, BS degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and MSN degree from Purdue University.  My staff nursing experience was in pediatric intensive care, oral surgery and an emergency department.  My nurse practitioner career has taken me to pain management, a college health clinic and currently, occupational health.  I am honored to represent Region 4 and proud of our CAPNI accomplishments.  Free free to contact me anytime!

I hold a Masters of Science in Nursing from Ball State University. I am currently employed at Medical Consultants p.c. in Muncie, Indiana as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. My practice specialty is in cardiology.

Colleen Ciampa, MN

I graduated with my BSN from Florida State University, MN as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from UCLA, and post masters as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from IU.  I have been in professional nursing for 36 years, 31 of which have been in advanced practice.  My career has been varied, but I have lived and worked the last 14 years in Indiana in both outpatient and inpatient settings.  I am currently with the GI/Hepatology Division at IU in Indianapolis.

Donna Lecher, MSN

I have been an NP since 1996.  I received both my BSN and MSN from IU School of Nursing, with a post-masters certificate from Northern Kentucky University.  I am certified as both and ANP and FNP. After working in family practice for 13 years, I have begun working in bariatrics with the physicians of Southern Indiana Surgery and Columbus Regional Hospital.  I have been a member of CAPNI since its inception and have served as the region 7 rep since 2005.

Jane Frary

I have been an FNP since 1988.  I received by BSN from St. Louis University and my MSN as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Southern Indiana.  I have worked in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Wellness Promotion.  I am currently working in Family Practice in Newburgh, IN.  In April of 2010, the local NPs started a CAPNI Region 8 group that meets quarterly in Evansville, IN.  You can email me at jafrary@gmail.com.

Dee Swanson, MSN

Diana (Dee) Swanson is the President of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Chair of the Fellows Think Tank on the Medical Home concept entitled "Nurse Practitioners: Promoting Access to Coordinated Primary Health Care".  She is an item writer and test constructionist for the AANP Adult and Family Nurse Pracitioner certification exams.

She served on the quality and certification committees of Precision Health Network, and currently serves as a member of the Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe Conty Quality committee and the Joint Commissions's PTAC for Critical Access Hospitals.  She is a full time Family Nurse Practitioner in a rural family practice in Nashville, Indiana and sees over 4,000 patient visits per year.  She has been a NP for 17 years, a nurse for 34 years.

She is a founding member of CAPNI and has served as the first elected president the organization.  She has been the Legislative chair of CAPNI for the past 6 years, working closely with lobbyist Doug Kinser to develop relationships with the state legislature and other regulatory agencies as well as other professional organizations.
